EXPANSION JOINTS - GENERAL
POLITEKNIK EXPANSION JOINTS

Since 1976, POLITEKNIK Expansion Joints have been serving different applications with success and reliability from standard piping systems to specific and critical design expansion joints.

Design of Expansion Joints are made according to
  • American EJMA (Expansion Joints Manufacturers
    Association) standards,

  • ANSI Piping Codes,

  • ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes and

  • DIN Standards

Mostly used bellows materials are Stainless Steel AISI 304, AISI 316, AISI 321. Special material are seldom used for high temperature applications such as AISI 309 and Incoloy 800.

Bellows are manufactured as "one-ply" or "multi-ply"
convolutions according to design conditions.

Besides serving as "Thermal Expansion Compensators" POLITEKNIK bellows serve as "Vibration Absorbers" at piping systems in vicinity of pumps, blowers, fans or other vibrating equipments.

MOVEMENT TYPES OF EXPANSION JOINT

The movement to be compensated for, may be axial movement, lateral movement or angular movement or any combination of these as dictated by the movement of the piping system.
